The CNE is not the only big event on the go in TO, this weekend.
A celebration of the Dragon, replacing cars with people, and a movie theatre on a boat are just some of the ventures hitting the city in the next few days, and with that expect road closures to slow your drive.
Open Streets Toronto closes two major Toronto streets to cars and encourages more sustainable forms of transportation like cycling, running and walking.
The event will close the following roads Sunday between 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. :
- Bloor Street, in both directions, from Dufferin Street to Parliament Street
- Yonge Street, in both directions, from Bloor Street to Queen Street
The Taste of Manila will take place on Saturday and Sunday featuring over 150 vendors showcasing food, crafts and merchandise.
- This event will close Bathurst Street completely at 12 a.m. on Saturday to 12 a.m. on Monday, from Laurelcrest Avenue to Wilson Avenue.
The annual Toronto Chinatown Festival celebrates the legend of the Dragon and featurews Asian and international street foods, dragon and lion dances, martial arts and entertainment performances.
- The festival will close southbound lanes of Spadina Ave. between St. Andrew and Sullivan streets from 9:00 a.m. Saturday to 11 p.m. Sunday. However, TTC streetcars will operate on Spadina as normal.
Sail-In Cinema presents the world’s first two-sided floating movie experience in Lake Ontario near Sugar beach. It free and runs Friday and Saturday around 8:00 p.m.
