It appears the end of the summer is upon us, as the 138th Canadian National Exhibition opens up on Friday.
Over a million and a half visited the exhibition, last year, the highest number through the turnstiles in two decades.
This year’s EX features a water show, a Philly steaklair, and Star Trek art exhibit.
Waterfront Shows: For the first time in over 20 years, the CNE features a show on the waterfront. The Nautique WWA Wakeboard World Championship headlines the events running next weekend from the 25th thru the 28th.
Philly Steaklair: This concoction combines the main course and desert into one sandwich. The Philly steaklair combines an eclair bun with steak, bacon, cheese, whip cream and chocolate. It can be found at Philthy Philly’s inside the food building.
Other unusual food combinations at the fair includes; The Big Pickle Dog, a Fried Pig Ear Sandwich, and the Bug Dog which features a frankfurter with crickets and mealworms.
Star Trek: “50 Artists. 50 Years.” Toronto is the only Canadian stop for this exhibit commemorating the 50th anniversary of the iconic series. The exhibition features original 2D and 3D artwork by 50 artists from 10 countries expressing their love of Star Trek and inspiration gained from it.
Canadian International Airshow: The Labour Day weekend will see the 67th version of the Exhibitions highlight event. Canada’s iconic Snowbirds, a CF-18 Hornet demo and a U.S. Navy F/A 18F Super Hornet will be the must-sees.
