The province made a couple of big transit announcements for Go transit riders in Mississauga and Milton today.
Ontario is making it easier for commuters in Mississauga to access public transit by introducing 2 new GO train trips along the Milton GO corridor.
Starting September 6, 2016, Metrolinx is adding one new morning and one new afternoon GO train trip between Milton and Toronto that will stop at all stations along the Milton line.
The additional morning trip will depart from Milton GO Station at 5:59 a.m. each weekday, making all stops to Union Station and arriving at 7:00 a.m.
The new afternoon trip will depart from Union Station at 5:55 p.m. each weekday, making all stops to Milton GO Station and arriving at 6:54 p.m.
Transportation Minister Steven Del Duca made a second announcmement at Streetsville GO station this morning that the province will be adding more parking spaces at both the Streetsville GO Station and the Square One GO Bus Terminal.
Construction will begin this fall to add over 250 parking spaces at the Streetsville GO Station, bringing the total number of available spaces to more than 1,700. Construction is expected to be completed in early 2018.
Construction will also begin this fall on approximately 130 new parking spaces at the Square One Bus Terminal, bringing the total number of available parking spaces to more than 330, with completion expected next spring.
The Square One Bus Terminal serves an average of 20,000 customers each day, making it the second-busiest bus terminal in the GO network after Union Station.
