Police are investigating after a video surfaced of a man apparently walking along the top of the Burlington Skyway.
The video was posted to YouTube on Monday and it shows footage of a person getting out of a car at sunrise and walking right to the top of the Skyway which is 64 metres off the ground.
At one point the camera is turned to show the person, a young man with most of his face concealed by sunglasses and a scarf.
It does not appear as if the man is wearing a harness or safety equipment of any kind.
The OPP have confirmed that they are now investigating.
A statement was issued with a periscope video through Sgt. Kerry Schmidt’s twitter account stating that a 21-year-old man has been charged with mischief and trespassing for the thrill seeking incident, which took place on Tuesday, August 2nd around 6 a.m.
Schmidt calls the video ”frightening” and refers to the man’s actions as ”irresponsible,” saying not only did he put himself at risk, but he also put those travelling in vehicles below at risk.
The investigation is ongoing.
