Toronto did not fare well in a new poll on what Canadians perceive to be the safest city in the country.
Mainstreet asked 4, 231 people which 15 Canadian cities were safe or unsafe.
The poll revealed that 47% of respondents view Toronto as unsafe which put it in 14th place behind Winnipeg which was seen as the most dangerous.
Montreal was also in the bottom three with 44% believing it as unsafe.
On the flipside, Ottawa was seen as Canada’s safest city with 72% saying it was safe or very safe compared to just 16% who said it was unsafe.
Charlottetown, Moncton, St John’s and Quebec City rounded out the top five among the safest.
