The Special Investigations Unit was called in Monday morning to probe the death of a man on a highway overpass in Vaughan.
The incident closed all northbound lanes of Highway 400 at Major Mackenzie Drive during the bulk of the morning commute.
A 911 call around 4:00 A.M. alerted authorities to an episode on the Northbound Lanes of the 400. Upon arrival, it’s was reported that a 49 year old man was struck and killed while on the road.
Five SIU and three forensic investigators have been assigned to probe circumstances surrounding the incident.
The SIU is an arm’s-length agency that investigates reports of death, serious injury or allegations of sexual assault where police were involved.
