If you purchase infant formula, you’re being reminded to have a good look at the packaging to make sure it has not been tampered with.
The Canadian Food Inspection Agency says it’s received a report from a Walmart store in Kanata, near Ottawa, about tampering with an infant formula product.
Walmart indicated a customer had returned an altered product to the store for a refund. The formula product had an outer container which appeared intact but the product inside the inner package had been substituted.
There’s been no reported illnesses associated with this incident.
Consumers should take a close look at the packaging to make sure the security seal is intact, it hasn’t been tampered with or altered, or replaced.
