Peel police say a 60 year old man has died in an Industrial accident in Brampton.
Police were called to the scene near McLaughin and Williams Parkway just before 10:30 a.m.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene and the Ministry of Labour has been called in to investigate.
The location is a distribution centre for Gap Inc Canada and it’s been confirmed that construction work is being carried out at the address.
The man who suffered a crushing type of injury wasn’t an employee at the distribution centre but was a construction worker.
A spokeswoman for Gap Inc. Canada, Heather Hopkins has issued a statement saying “we are saddened by the tragic loss of a contractor at our distribution center in Brampton today, and we want to extend our deepest condolences to the individual’s family. Safety is our top priority, and we are working closely with local law enforcement agencies to investigate this incident.”
Peel Police say they will also be helping the Ministry of Labour with their investigation.
