Concern from an animal advocacy group has Toronto Animal Services checking out reports of a lion cub making an illegal appearance at a lounge in Toronto.
Instagram photos from patrons at the Lavelle Lounge french eatery near King and Bathrust, show several posing with the wild animal.
That’s a no-no in Toronto, and set The Animal Justice Advocacy group in to motion, pressing authorities for an investigation.
Toronto bylaws prohibit keeping a lion in the community and is punishable by a fine of up to $5,000.
Staff at Lavelle said in a statement that they asked the patron who brought the lion to leave after the discovery by security.
