The Danforth is closed this weekend between Broadview and Jones Avenues for the annual Taste of the Danforth.
Over a million people have attended the event in each of the last few years in order to take in some good eats at the festival, which celebrates great Greek food.
Motorists and commuters will have to keep in mind that Danforth Avenue is closed in both directions from Broadview to Jones Avenues until 1 a.m. Monday.
Toronto Police say the closure includes all intersections along that stretch of the Danforth.
According to the organizers, the event is now in its 23rd year and it is the country’s largest food festival as it continues to bring more and more people each year with 1.6 million expected for this weekend.
Back in 1994, there were only 5,000 people who attended the event.
The Greek food festival will be taking place regardless of the weather conditions.
