A 57 year old man was taken into custody after a fatal stabbing at a home on Fleetwood Crescent in Brampton, Wednesday afternoon.
Police say an 82 year old man, Michael Narine, was taken to hospital in life threatening condition following the stabbing, which happened just after noon.
He later succumbed to his injuries in hospital.
The suspect, identified as Gregory Narine, was arrested at the scene. He’s since been charged with second degree murder.
Police say the homicide unit has taken over the investigation and they aren’t looking for any other suspects, stressing this was an isolated incident and there’s no concern for public safety.
Narine is to appear in court Thursday.
This is the 8th murder of the year in Peel.
