Toronto Police believe that they have captured the bank robber known as the “Rat Bandit” following the arrest of a 27-year-old man.
The suspect received the nick-name due to his plan of escape following the same routine by running into the underground and getting away on the subway.
He would also leave notes with the tellers stating that he was heavily armed and investigators say they still don’t know how much money the bandit got in a total of nine heists at several banks in the east end of the city.
Police say they received a number of tips after they announced a $10,000 reward.
Ryan Flaherty is now facing nine counts of robbery, two counts of disguised intent and assault.
