A day after announcing the launch of online booze purchases through LCBO.com, Finance Minister Charles Sousa took a road trip out to Inniskillin Wines in Niagara today to highlight the new and improved regulations for alcohol producers.
The Ontario Liberals continue making changes on how alcohol is produced and sold in the province with claims of helping businesses grow.
Wednesday’s announcement touched on allowing wine, beer and spirits manufacturers to have a bar or restaurant at each of their licensed manufacturing sites.
Previously, manufacturers were allowed only one bar or restaurant, regardless of the number of manufacturing sites they owned.
In recent months, the province has made several announcements and moves lightening policies on alcohol in Ontario.
In December, 60 grocery stores across Ontario had beer on their shelves for the holidays. In June, those same stores were allowed to stock cider, then yesterday online alcohol shopping became a reality at LCBO.com
