The Province’s Special Investigations Unit is checking out an incident in which a woman carrying a knife was hit a couple times by a police taser.
The 31 year old female was taken down just before 1:00 a.m. on Monday, after she brandished a knife during an encounter with taxi driver near John Street South and Hunter Street East.
The driver alerted nearby Hamilton police officers who eventually deployed a conducted energy weapon.
The female was transported to St. Joseph’s Hospital for treatment of unknown injuries.
