Residents in Etobicoke North are heading to the polls today, choosing a successor for the seat left vacant by the late Rob Ford.
Ford’s nephew, Michael, a relative newcomer to politics is hoping to inherit the post in the heart of so-called “Ford Nation”.
Michael recently served as a school board trustee before launching his own campaign for Etobicoke’s Ward 2.
His uncle polarized the city during his time in politics with various headline grabbing shenanigans, including admitting to smoking crack.
A total of 12 candidates are vying for the post in the byelection.
The polls are open from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday at various locations across Etobicoke North.
