York Police are appealing for witnesses after several containers of chemicals were illegally dumped in a residential area near Markham Road and 16th Avenue.
On Wednesday, July 20, at around 9 a.m., police responded to a residence on Bishop Crescent after a homeowner located containers of strange substances left on his property.
York Police safely removed the material and determined there was no concern for public safety. The chemicals are believed to be commonly used in the manufacturing of illegal drugs.
Investigators believe that the material was dumped at the location on Bishop Drive sometime overnight on Tuesday.
Police are encouraging anyone who may have seen anything suspicious in the area at the time to come forward.
