A 21 year old Toronto man is facing a raft of charges in connection with a human trafficking investigation.
According to Toronto Police, a 23 year old woman met the accused through another male trafficker, sometime in 2015.
At the time he offered her asylum and a better life away from the sex trade.
However it’s alleged that she was then forced back into the sex trade and that the accused demanded she see more clients in order to make money for him.
She was brought to various hotels in the GTA to meet clients and was forced to hand over all her earnings, estimated to be in the region of $200,000, which the accused allegedly spent on jewelry, expensive clothing, rent and food.
Police also say that the man would assault the woman and injure her dog to make her comply with his demands.
The physical abuse increased to the point that the woman sought medical attention, at which time police were called and an investigation launched.
Kyle Fraser (pictured) was arrested on July 18th and charged with 12 offences, including assault causing bodily harm and forcible confinement.
Police fear there may be other victims and are appealing for anyone with concerns to come forward.
