The Indy 500’s best drivers roll in downtown this weekend for the 30th annual Toronto Honda Indy.
The racing festivities kicked off on Friday with drivers taking to the circuit for practice and qualifying runs.
Fans and spectators can tour the grounds all weekend long and can also get up close and personal with some of the Indy car’s that will be involved in this year’s race.
Several other races will be taking place on the Lake Shore track this weekend including the Cooper Tires USF2000 Championship as well as the Stadium Super Trucks.
The 30th running of the Indy Car race will start at 3:15 pm on Sunday.
Canada’s own James Hinchcliffe will be trying to gain a win on his home turf while last year’s champion Josef Newgarden will be seeking to make it back-to-back wins.
For commuters, there will be some road closures.
Both lanes of Lake Shore Boulevard from Strachan Avenue to Ontario Drive will be closed off until 11:59 pm Sunday night.
The Westbound middle and curb lanes of Lake Shore will remain blocked off until 3 pm Monday.
