A group of people who call themselves “Creep Catchers” pose as young girls online and engage in conversation with and ask to meet people who they suspect of molesting girls, then post the video of the encounter on social media.
David Swanson, head of the Swift Current chapter, was arrested after posting a video of his meeting with Aaron Francis, in which the two had a verbal altercation before Francis pushed Swanson to the ground.
Some RCMP detachments have criticized such predator-baiting groups, saying they not only put themselves at risk but also could possibly compromise an active police investigation.
