Cyclists and motor vehicles are getting involved in more crashes, resulting in serious injuries and death. On Monday in Toronto, in less than 24 hrs, there were 18 reported collisions involving cyclists and pedestrians with motor vehicles.
Joey Schwartz is the Advocacy Director at Toronto Bicycling Network and joined the show to discuss. He says they place Ghost Bikes (small, all-white painted bicycles) at the site of crashes where a cyclist has died.
Do cyclists find themselves injured and killed because drivers of cars and truck don’t give a damn and see people of bicycles as a “nuisance”…or more accurately, eventually, a “bloody nuisance?”
