This is now the third day of a heat wave in Toronto and the GTA, as the temperature is expected to reach a high of 33 degrees with the humidity making it feel like 38 degrees today.
Environment Canada issued a heat warning on Tuesday and since then we’ve seen the temp get up to as high as 30 degrees over the past few days.
The agency also says that it should cool off slightly with their forecast calling for highs of 27 degrees on Friday, 22 degrees on Saturday and 27 degrees on Sunday.
Meantime, Toronto Hydro is asking all resident with air conditioning units to reduce consumption.
They would like you to turn down it down instead of turning it up. They’re suggesting that you opt to use ceiling fans, close your blinds and do the dishes or laundry after 7 p.m. when the off peak electricity rates kick in.
