New laws in this province went into effect July 1 reducing the amount of allowable window tint on vehicles.
The front windshield is prohibited from any tinting after market, while the left and right passenger windows cannot block more than 30 percent of light. Cyclists are applauding the new laws, saying tinted windows made it more difficult to tell whether drivers could see them. They also feel this will cut down on accidents with vehicles, including “dooring” incidents since the drivers will see them sooner.
Meanwhile, there have been multiple accidents between cyclists and drivers this week, including 20 on Monday.
Do you think restrictions on window tinting will prevent more accidents?
