An eighteen-year veteran of the Ottawa Police force was demoted after admitting to switching a price tag on an expensive hiking bag.
While on duty, Cons. Todd Sheppard switched the $150 price tag with a $20 one from a cheaper bag. He was found guilty of discreditable conduct and was demoted from first-class to second-class constable for 12 months. Sheppard was not charged criminally, however.
Is the one-year demotion enough of a punishment?
