Toronto and York Police held a joint press conference today to let the public know they are looking for 1 man linked to 3 sex assaults in both jurisdictions.
Police say they believe the same man is responsible for the 3 attacks in York and Toronto.
The first incident happened on Thursday, May 26, at 1 p.m., when an 18-year-old woman got off a bus in the Keele Street/Rutherford Road area.
She walked to her nearby home and as she was unlocking her front door, a man ran towards her from the sidewalk and sexually assaulted her.
The man fled when the woman fought him off.
After that attack York police released images and a video of the man fleeing the scene and security footage of the car he was driving.
The second assault happened on Wednesday, June 8, 2016, at 11 p.m., when a 33-year-old woman was walking in the Whitmore Avenue and Fairleigh Crescent area.
A man approached the woman from behind and sexually assaulted her then fled when the woman screamed.
The third assault happened on Tuesday, June 21, 2016, at 11:15 p.m., when a 29-year-old woman was walking in the Brooke Avenue/Yonge Boulevard area.
The man approached the woman from behind, dragged her up a driveway, and sexually assaulted her. He fled eastbound on Brooke Avenue when the woman fought him off
The same man is believed to have committed all three sexual assaults.
He is described as black, 20-40, 5’8″-6’, with a muscular build, short black hair, some facial hair, wearing glasses. He was seen driving in a white, newer-model, compact, four-door car.
Police are concerned there may be other victims.
