NBA superstar Kevin Durant has announced through an article on the Players Tribune that he will be leaving the Oklahoma City Thunder for the Golden State Warriors.
The 2014 NBA MVP will now join Steph Curry, who has won back-to-back MVP awards in 2015 and 2016.
Golden State managed to set a record this past season with 73 wins, but failed to capitalize on it when they lost in the NBA Finals to LeBron James and the Cleveland Cavaliers after blowing a 3-1 series lead.
The Warriors figure this move should give them an opportunity to avoid such a collapse, as their starting lineup has several All-Stars with Draymond Green, Clay Thompson, Steph Curry and now Kevin Durant.
He’s played nine seasons in the NBA and has averaged 27.4 points per game.
Durant has reportedly signed a $53 million two-year deal.
