The 36th Pride Parade goes Sunday at 2:00 p.m. with around 200 organizations represented along the route and over 100,000 expected to take in the festivities.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau will make history being the first sitting national leader to take part in the parade. Premier Kathleen Wynne, Mayor John Tory, and all of the major candidates for the Conservative leadership are expected to participate.
In a show of unity, organizers have planned a moment of silence to recognize the 49 killed in the Orlando night club tragedy, most of whom belonged to the LGBT community.
The journey starts on Bloor and travels down Yonge, ending at Yonge-Dundas Square.
Also, “The Final Play” will feature a lineup of artists and bands at the Square including RuPaul and Joe Jonus (Jonus Brothers) and his band DNCE as the headliner. That event goes until 11:00 p.m.
