Toronto Hydro crews are working to restore power to some 3,000 customers in the city’s east end.
The outage was first reported at around 1 a.m. on Thursday morning and about 6,000 customers were initially affected in the area bounded by Bloor Street, Lakeshore Boulevard, Yonge Street and Coxwell Avenue.
Crews worked through the night and by 4 a.m. the outage perimeter had been reduced to Danforth Avenue, Queen Street, the Don Valley Parkway and Coxwell Avenue.
The outage is said to have been caused by an equipment failure next to a transformer station.
It is not yet known when power will be fully restored.
