Two firefighters suffered hand and rib injuries battling a five-alarm blaze at a low-rise building in downtown Toronto overnight.
The fire began just before midnight at 794 Dundas Street West near the area between Bathurst Street and Shaw Street.
Fire officials say both firefighters were injured after one of them fell off a ladder and the other tried to break his fall.
Both were taken to hospital with minor injuries and no other casualties were reported.
Firefighters responded to the scene after a tenant called and discovered smoke in an apartment unit located above a picture frame shop.
Fire officials say three businesses and three apartments were impacted.
Authorities had blocked off Dundas Street West but it has since re-opened.
