After much criticism over proposed cuts to autism funding, the Ontario government has changed its mind.
Minister of Children & Youth Services Michael Coteau announced an extra $200 million will be spent over the next four years for child and youth autism support. Coteau added the Ontario Autism Program will not have age restrictions and will remain flexible towards the intensity of treatment required for each child.
Melanie Palaypayon joined Kelly last month to discuss how the cuts were going to affect her six-year-old son, Xavier. Melanie is back today to provide an update.
