A cracked pane of glass on the Four Seasons Hotel has prompted the partial closure of two streets in Yorkville.
In a statement released on Tuesday afternoon, hotel spokesperson Halla Rafati said the crack was found in a window on the east side of the building, located at 60 Yorkville Avenue, at about 12:40 p.m.
“At this time no glass has fallen, but cars and pedestrian traffic are not allowed on the east side of the building and onto Yorkville Avenue, between Bay and Yonge street, until the area is fully clear, the safety and security of our guests and neighbours remains of utmost importance to us. We take this situation very seriously and are working diligently to resolve the matter as quickly as possible” Rafati said.
It not clear exactly how long the closures will be in place.
It’s not the first time the hotel has experienced an issue like this, two people suffered minor injuries when glass fell from the penthouse last September, while glass also fell from the east side of the building in February of this year, no one was injured in that incident.
