Good news for residential customers of Enbridge Gas Distribution.
The utility company has received approval from the Ontario Energy Board for the introduction of new lower rates.
Customers are set to see a total bill decrease of about seven per cent, or $63 a year.
The new rates will take effect on July 1st.
In a release issued on Thursday afternoon, Enbridge says the decrease is a result of lower Cost Adjustment charge, which reflects the difference between forecasts costs and actual costs from prior periods.
The decrease is also partially offset by higher natural gas commodity prices in North America, and changes to Enbridge’s 2016 distribution rates.
