A 66 year old man is dead after being struck by a van in the Dufferin Street and Eglinton Avenue area.
The victim was taking his daily walk to a bakery when he was hit on Dynevor Road around 7 a.m.
He was pronounced dead at the scene just steps away from his home.
The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene.
Johnson Ferreira was a passenger inside the van. He tells Global News the pedestrian cut in front of them and they had no time to stop.
“We were driving 15 km up the hill and he was going north and we were going north too and right around the corner he just cut right in front of our car and we hit him.”
No word if charges will be laid.
