A new ad campaign bringing attention to Islamophobia has created quite the stir around the city.
The poster is in 150 TTC stations and bus shelters across Toronto, and depicts a young Caucasian man talking down to a young woman in a hijab.
“Go back where you came from,” he says.
“Where, North York?” replies the woman.
The campaign was launched this week by the City of Toronto and the Ontario Council of Agencies Serving Immigrants (OCASI) and has received mixed reactions.
City Councillor Joe Mihevc tells Tasha how the anti-Islamophobia ad campaign came about after hearing some backlash over Syrian refugees coming to Canada.
