No Russian track and field athletes will be attending the Rio Olympics this summer, according to multiple media reports.
The International Association of Athletics Federations will likely uphold the ban on Russian athletes Friday amid widespread allegations of state-sponsored doping.
The ban was first put in place following a report by the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) in November. That report alleged state-sponsored doping.
A follow-up report, released earlier this week, alleged military intimidation of anti-doping officers and reported observing a Russian athlete fleeing a testing zone, among other irregularities.
The IAAF will make an official announcement Friday morning.
More to come.
