Police are warning residents of certain midtown neighbourhoods of an increase in break ins in recent weeks.
They are reminding residents in 53 Division, which includes the areas of Rosedale, Leaside, Thorncliffe Park, Moore Park, Yonge and Eglinton, Mount Pleasant and parts of both Forest Hill, and the Annex to remain vigilant and to properly secure their properties.
According to police, there have been multiple reports of people gaining access or attempting to gain access to homes through unlocked back doors at night.
They are also urging residents to activate alarms before going to bed and to ensure their vehicles and bicycles are locked and secured.
Anyone who sees someone or something suspicious, on or around their property, is encouraged to call 9-1-1 immediately.
