During our weekly radio show we had on the oracle himself Shinobi602 the industry insider who seems to know things before they happen. EA Play is Sunday and according to Shinobi we could MAYBE POSSIBLY “wink wink” see a new Star Wars game announced.
All information is rumor and cannot be considered official confirmation
Interview with Shinobi602
“He [does] not know exactly what the title would be or who it would be from” but a studio under the EA umbrella that is related to a game under the Star Wars license may announce a new IP that may or may not be Star Wars or Battlefront related. Whatever that game or studio is along with a few new games and surprises, will be a safe bet to show this year.
Other big releases for EA this year include the newly revealed Battlefield 1, which Shinobi says he “knew about the game…” and “knew what the setting was and knew it was gonna come out later this year” before the reveal, which was his first time actually seeing the game. Titanfall 2 is also on the docket, and Respawn is remaining tight-lipped about anything else related to the game.
This year at E3, EA is offering a chance for attendees to get their hands on the games they announce in EA Play. Since we haven’t seen anything outside of the trailers for either of these games (which should be considered EA’s tentpole releases of 2016) the plans apparently are to make a huge showing for Mass Effect, Battlefield, and Titanfall, along with “they might show a thing or two that might be coming after that.”
EA PLAY will be broadcast online at 1pm Pacific on June 13th. We also spoke with the insider all about E3 for spoilers on the new consoles, Skyrim remakes and Red Dead Redemption 2, click here.
