With EA PLAY just around the corner we had the chance to speak with someone who has seen their flagship title, Mass Effect Andromeda in action. Shinobi602 is an industry insider who’s revelations have foiled the plans of game makers around the globe. You can see exactly what he said below at the 8:29 mark.

Interview with Shinobi602
“They plan on releasing [the game] earlier next year before the next E3, that’s what EA’s Financial Quality said as much… I expect them to debut it in an explosive way. ”
The insider included, but wouldn’t confirm that the portions of the game he had seen would be displayed on Sunday. He hinted that, “We could see the protagonist in action, along with the squad and highlights how the exploration mechanic…works”
Shinobi added the he is allowed to announce that he has “seen snippets of gameplay, and it… looks really damn good,” but can’t divulge how much he has seen and what even what content is generally in the game.
As for when we asked what the tone of Mass Effect Andromeda will be, I’ll let Shinobi take it from here:
“Tonally, um, it’s actually a good question. I would say this is the game they’ve envisioned they always wanted to make.
It’s vast, and they got a lot of planets to hop on, you know. And I think they’re hitting the tone of the original game, you know, just, you know, being this newcomer in this really big galaxy that um, you know, trying to find your way and, um, I would say it’s… I would say it’s more to the tone of the original, you know, just being this stranger in this big wide galaxy, and uh, I think that excites a lot of fans, uh, from what I’ve seen.”
“Um, I think the best way to put it would probably be that they have learned, um, specific things from all three of their previous games and I think they’re going to, uh, incorporate all those things very nicely into the game. And I think that’s…pretty much what I can say on that.”
When it comes to the tone of the game, we can look forward to a fish out of water style story wherein you explore a new galaxy unfamiliar to the player in the vein of the first Mass Effect game, including that “[the game is] vast, and they got a lot of planets to hop on.” Bioware has “learned things” from each game from the previous trilogy when it comes to gameplay as well, combine elements from every preceding game as well, and “this is the game they’ve envisioned they always wanted to make.”
EA PLAY will be broadcast online at 1pm Pacific on June 13th. We also spoke with the insider all about E3 for spoilers on the new consoles, Skyrim remakes and Red Dead Redemption 2, click here.
