TORONTO — Ontario Provincial Police are investigating after about 15 passengers were evacuated from a GO Transit bus on Highway 407 Saturday morning.
Police say the bus was passing through Milton, heading from Guelph to Toronto, when an incident on board forced the driver to pull over to the side of the highway.
OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said officers arrested one suspect with the help of Peel police. The matter was resolved shortly after 11 a.m.
Everyone on board made it safely off the bus, and police say the passengers will be taken in for questioning.
Highway 407 is closed between Brittania Road and Derry Road while police investigate but is expected to reopen around 4 p.m.
As this is an open investigation, police are not releasing further information at this time about the on board incident.
