Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Premier Kathleen Wynne will be in Oshawa on Friday where General Motors is expected to announce it’s hiring.
Reports suggest 1,000 new jobs will be added but they won’t be in manufacturing.
The positions will reportedly be spread out at a number of General Motors research and development facilities.
GM Canada has yet to confirm the reports but the company said it was looking forward to its announcement.
The announcement is set to come down at 10 a.m. at GM Canada’s engineering centre.
