In a Toronto courtroom Wednesday, convicted child pornographer Brian Way applied for a stay of conviction, which essentially is a delay in sentencing. He claimed he was harassed and humiliated by prison guards at Toronto West Detention Centre, who told him to “twirl like a ballerina” while being strip searched following his arrest.
Way was convicted in May 2015 of making, possessing, publishing, distributing, exporting, and importing child pornography. Police found 8000 videos and nearly 200,000 images during a raid of his Queensway video business back in 2011.
Criminal defence lawyer Joseph Neuberger explains how Brian Way may have a case if the claims are true.
