Hundreds of local Woodstock high school students walked out of classes Tuesday morning to raise awareness of a growing suicide crisis in the Ontario community.
They all headed to a rally at Museum Square at the centre of the city to make a statement about the fact that five teens have taken their lives since February, which is more than the past five years combined.
All three public schools, one Catholic and one French Catholic high school saw students take part in the walk today.
Is this a phenomenon isolated to the Woodstock community? Is this an issue affecting many of today’s youth? What’s the biggest root cause?
