Armed with a loaded gun and an empty stomach?
Toronto Councillor Giorgio Mammoliti will put forward a motion on Tuesday that will interest you.
In response to 137% increase in shooting deaths, The Ward 7 representative has drawn up a program that would waive prosecution against gun owners who surrender their weapons to authorities.
In order to entice individuals to take part, Mammoliti suggests that the city offer either $100 per gun, or a $200 gift card to a grocery chain.
Back in 2000, Toronto’s Operation: Save a Life brought in 2,000 guns at a cost of $100,000.
