The Senate is debating Assisted Dying legislation C-14. The federal government is not going to meet the Supreme Court imposed June 6 deadline for enacting the physician-assisted death law since they sent the legislation to the Senate’s legal committee. We spoke with Shanaz Gokool, CEO of Dying With Dignity (Canada) about this and the disappointment surrounding the issue and legislation.
I also shared my wife’s and my discussing of ‘assisted dying’ option. It was law in Quebec during her final months. It’s private and personal, but the issue is too important and my wife’s views were absolute and as a medical professional.
