Toronto police have begun cracking down on marijuana dispensaries across the city’s downtown core.
Officers and City of Toronto Municipal Licensing and Standards officials executed search warrants at an unknown number of storefronts, including the Eden Medicinal Society located at 760 Queen St. W. and the Toronto Holistic Cannabinoids Dispensary at 179 Baldwin St.
Staff members were seen in handcuffs on various photos on social media as officers entered both dispensaries.

Police said the raids were part of Project Claudia, which is targeting dispensaries selling marijuana outside of the Marijuana for Medical Purposes Regulations.
It is not yet clear how many search warrants were executed but police said an undisclosed amount of marijuana was also seized.
Toronto police Chief Mark Saunders will present the findings at a press conference Friday morning.
