Ontario Provincial Police will be discussing recent Amber Alerts issued this year and updates to the program at a press conference in Orillia Thursday morning.
Amber Alert partners and stakeholders will also be on hand to talk about new translation and text-to-voice services.
There have been three Amber Alerts issued in Ontario so far this year.
OPP initiated a review for one case in which an alert was issued more than four hours after a four-year-old girl was allegedly abducted by her father in Aurora, Ont. in April.
The father’s vehicle was found several hours later rolled over just outside Ottawa with the child inside.
The father was subsequently charged with abduction with no custody order, break-and-enter and two counts of assault.
