Toronto Police would like to remind the public to remain vigilant, and to lock their doors and windows at night, particularly with summer approaching.
In recent weeks, there has been a noticeable increase in residential break-and-enters in The Annex and Harbord Village area.
It is reported that people have broken into multiple residential homes through unlocked doors and windows, particularly on the ground floor.
On some occasions, the suspects have entered even though the homeowners are inside.
The items of interests for the suspects are small, expensive, easy-to-carry-and-conceal items like cash, wallets, purses, credit cards, identification, jewelry and electronic equipment.
Anyone who sees someone or something suspicious, on or around their property, is encouraged to call 9-1-1 immediately.
