A friendly reminder from Toronto police about keeping your home and valuables safe from thieves.
With the weather warming up, many will be leaving windows open and doors unlocked, which provides the perfect opportunity for someone to gain entry to your home when you least expect it.
Even if you’re home or outside doing yard work, home owners are being advised to lock all doors and main floor windows, and conceal valuables in a safe place.
Warm-weather thieves are usually looking to take small, easy to carry items, such as purses, wallets, jewelry and electronic equipment.
And if you spot anything suspicious, either on your property or a neighbors, you’re asked to call police.
