Amid parent concern, Thorncliffe Park Public School is offering a compromise of sorts for its sexual education program.
Many parents were worried about the use of the words penis and vagina in the classroom, so instead, the school created a separate classroom where the term private parts would be substituted in their place.
Thorncliffe Park you will remember was the site of a lot of protests over Premier Kathleen Wynne’s changes to the sex ed curriculum.
Sixty percent of the 300 grade one students were taught in the proper curriculum, while the other 40 percent went to the separate program.
Is this a reasonable compromise or a dangerous precedent?
