There will be another Canadian astronaut heading into space to visit the International Space Station in two years.
David Saint-Jacques is a native of Quebec City who will be on the Russian Soyuz rocket in November 2018. He will be accompanied by fellow astronaut Jeremy Hansen, who is a 40-year-old from of London, England.
Minister of Innovation Navdeep Bains made the announcement in Ottawa today indicating that Saint-Jacques will take part in a six-month mission and he will be the ninth Canadian to go to space and third to visit the space station.
Chris Hadfield was the last Canadian astronaut to travel to space in 2013 and he went on to become the first Canadian commander of the space station during a five-month mission.
