A school in the Mount Pleasant Road and Eglinton Avenue East area has been evacuated after a threat was directed at it on Friday morning.
Police confirmed that they were investigating the possible threat at Northern Secondary School shortly after 9.a.m.
Officers are currently on scene searching the building and the surrounding grounds.
Toronto district school board has since confirmed that the school has been evacuated as a precaution.
The tweet also states that staff and students are safe and have been re directed North Toronto Collegiate.
A number of road closures are now in place surrounding the school, with Mount Pleasant Road closed in the area of Roehampton Avenue and Rawlinson Ave closed north from Eglinton Ave West.
